Colorguard is a bit both pageantry and sport. Flags, rifles, sabers, and dance are used to interpret music and entertain audiences. Students condition, train, and rehearse choreography to perform with marching band on the field. Students will demonstrate teamwork, self-responsibility, leadership, and perform at an extremely high level.
Unlike the color guard in the fall marching season, winter guard is performed indoors in a gymnasium. Performances make use of recorded music, painted floors and scenery. The Indoor Guard competes regionally within the Florida Federation of Colorguard Circuit.
The Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC) offers a competitive outlet during winter for color guard, indoor marching percussion and concert percussion teams and Winds. Our competitive season begins in January and culminates in our Circuit Championships in early April.
